Altanova is a consulting and engineering firm specializing in sustainability and innovation. Based in New York and Paris with a global perspective we combine strategic and technological analysis to further the sustainable performance of clients assets operations and reputation. Our work includes risk and materiality analysis enhancing employee engagement and satisfaction development and support in implementing decarbonization strategies across the value chain optimizing energy use and transitioning to low-carbon energy through our strong foundation in industrial building and product sustainability. Our clients are a mix of real estate corporate clients and investors.

We are seeking a Software Development Intern to join our engineering team and support the development of full-stack web applications. You will work collaboratively to contribute to backend services frontend interfaces testing deployment pipelines and cloud-based application hosting.

Our tech stack includes PostgreSQL Django REST Framework Svelte/SvelteKit Git/GitHub Azure and GitHub Actions. This internship emphasizes learning and applying solid engineering practices such as test-driven development (TDD) and domain-driven design.

Expected Activities:

• Assist in developing and maintaining RESTful APIs using Django REST Framework.

• Support frontend development with Svelte/Sveltekit.

• Write review and maintain clean testable code following TDD practices.

• Help design and refine domain models to support application features.

• Collaborate with the development team using Git/Github for version control and workflow.

• Contribute to database administration and schema design in PostgreSQL.

• Participate in setting up maintaining and monitoring applications deployed on Azure.

• Assist with writing and maintaining automated tests and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.

Desired Profile:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science Software Engineering or a related fieldor equivalent practical experience.

• Basic understanding of one or more programming languages (Python JavaScript etc.)

• Familiarity with web development concepts such as HTTP APIs and clientserver architecture.

• Willingness to learn new technologies frameworks and engineering best practices.

• Solid problem-solving skills and curiosity about how systems work end-to-end.

• Passion for issues related to sustainable development and energy desire to support companies in their contribution and transition to a low-carbon world

• English spoken at least at a professional level. Another language spoken at a professional level can be an advantage

• Effective communication skills including popularization of technical topics

• Authorized to work in the U.S.
