About the opportunity

The primary purpose of this position is to contribute to provision of high-quality research support to the externally funded multi-agency clinical trial The Optimal Implementation of Antimicrobial Stewardship in General Practice study (OPTIMAS-GP). Combating antimicrobial resistance is a global health priority. Reducing the potentially inappropriate use of antibiotics reduces antimicrobial resistance. The OPTIMAS-GP study will investigate the most effective means of implementing evidence-based antimicrobial stewardship activities in general practice surgeries.

This role will provide research assistance support and liaise with the broader multi-site research team as collaboration with the Launceston Clinical Schools Professor in General Practice this role will be responsible for the recruitment and support of Tasmanian general practice trial sites and will be based at the Launceston Clinical School.

What youll do:

  • Support recruitment onboarding and troubleshooting at trial sites.
  • Assist with qualitative data collection analysis monitoring and reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with research staff in other trial sites and provide professional and timely advice service and support to relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide general research assistance support to the project team including managing data quality storage and access in accordance with relevant research and ethics policies and practices.
  • Contribute to research project report and publications and other research project materials as required.

What were looking for:

  • A degree level qualification in a health-related area along with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
  • Demonstrated expertise in conducting research studies including both quantitative and qualitative research.
  • Excellent analytical problem-solving and organisational skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Experience preparing scientific and management submissions ethics applications and consumer/stakeholder engagement.
  • Practical experience with the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs including at least intermediate level Excel expertise.
  • Current Australian drivers licence.

Salary details

Appointment to this role will be at Research Assistant Level 1 and will have a total remuneration package of $97342 pro rata comprising base salary of $83198 pro rata plus 17% superannuation.
