The Radiology Support Assistant will assist with the flow of imaging images and reports from all the modalities used for the care of each patient within the system.
Essential Functions:
- Assists the technologists with the daily workflow of imaging patients.
- Verifies patient identification using two patient identifiers.
- Transports patients from other units and departments to the radiology department.
- Escorts patients to and from the waiting room to the appropriate department.
- Prints reports makes CDs and electronically share images as requested.
- Receives imports and logs outside images into PACS and Epic.
- Utilizes e-sharing image solution to expedite image transfers.
- Maintains appropriate tracking mechanisms for incoming and outgoing imaging records.
Education:
- High School Degree or GED (required)
- Associate degree (preferred)
Licensure/Certification:
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association (required)
Experience:
- EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience (preferred)
- Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) experience (preferred)
- Healthcare experience (preferred)
Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrates problem solving active listening time management organization and adaptability skills.
- Possesses ability to provide a strong customer service via email communication and phone etiquette in a high stress environment.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Suite and radiology imaging anatomy.
