Role Scope
This role is aligned with the Logistics & Services (L&S) Asset Partnerships team which focuses on the procurement maintenance and lifecycle management of large-scale L&S assets. The team is responsible for sourcing and managing:
Industrial Real Estate new builds expansions leases and site maintenance
Construction & Engineering development refurbishment and infrastructure upgrades
Facilities Management & Security operations maintenance and safety of active sites
Depot/Warehouse Equipment & Automation procurement maintenance and technology integration
Transportation Assets including aircraft trucks and electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure
Together these categories form the backbone of Maersks global logistics network ensuring assets are developed maintained and operated for long-term value and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Planning & Investment
Lifecycle Cost Modelling: Build and maintain asset cost models incorporating depreciation financing and residual value assumptions to inform investment decisions and optimise total cost of ownership (TCO).
Asset Optimisation Analysis: Assess asset performance across utilisation efficiency and return metrics (ROIC TCO NPV) to identify opportunities for value improvement redeployment or divestment.
Investment & Divestment Support: Provide financial insight on asset transactions quantifying the impact on cashflow P&L and capital efficiency.
Business Case Validation: Challenge financial and operational assumptions ensure scenario alignment with LSAP strategy and confirm cases are robust defensible and value accretive.
Commercial Execution & Governance
Asset Right Playbook Development: Define financial guidelines and structuring principles for asset procurement ensuring consistent value-driven decisions balancing cost flexibility and risk.
Deal Structuring & Commercial Alignment: Support commercial negotiations by reviewing financial terms lease structures and vendor economics to enable value-optimised outcomes.
Post-Deal Governance: Ensure that approved investment and lease terms are correctly reflected in financial systems and reported to key stakeholders.
Reporting & Ad-hoc Analysis
Prepare recurring management reports and dashboards summarising CAPEX asset utilisation return metrics and investment pipeline.
Support consolidation and presentation of LSAP financials for monthly performance reviews (MPRs) forecasts and ad-hoc analysis.
Contribute to continuous improvement of reporting tools templates and investment governance processes.
Undertake ad-hoc deep-dives and financial analysis on strategic priorities or performance issues as required.
Qualifications & Experience
710 years experience in corporate finance investment analysis FP&A or business partnering roles ideally within asset-intensive industries (logistics infrastructure manufacturing or transport).
Strong financial modelling skills (Excel Power BI).
Solid understanding of investment appraisal techniques (NPV IRR ROIC TCO) and capital structuring principles.
Experience with IFRS accounting for assets and leases preferred.
Confident communicator able to translate financial insights into clear business recommendations.
