Key job responsibilities
-Design and build distributed storage index and query systems that are scalable fault-tolerant low cost and easy to manage/use
-Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to conceive design and bring innovative knowledge management products to market
-Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to technologies at incredible scale and speed
-Write clean maintainable code that follows Amazons Code Bar standards while actively participating in code reviews
-Participate in the full software development lifecycle including scoping design testing documentation deployment and operational support
A day in the life
Youll tackle challenges that influence millions of customers sellers and products around the world. Your day involves collaborating with team members on design decisions writing code for new features reviewing others work and troubleshooting production systems. Youll balance immediate deliverables with planning for longer-term architectural improvements all while working in development cycles measured in weeks not years.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1 years of software development engineer or related occupational experience
- 1 years of designing and developing large-scale multi-tiered multi-threaded embedded or distributed software applications tools systems and services using: C# C Java or Perl experience
- 1 years of Object Oriented Design experience
- Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science Engineering Mathematics or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
