Through a Whole of NSW Government EOI the Department of Planning Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI) is seeking a visionary Director to lead our Industrial Assessment function for the Development Assessments and Sustainability (DAS) team as part of the Planning Group. This temporary role offers a unique opportunity to lead a team of experts managing industrial assessments while contributing meaningful work for a more sustainable future for NSW until March 2026 with potential to be extended further.
The role
As Director Industry Assessments youll lead the assessment of major industrial projects across NSW making sure environmental social and economic factors are all carefully considered. Youll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders and manage a team of experts to deliver high-quality timely outcomeseven when projects are complex contested or policy is shifting.
The job is fast-paced and requires you to juggle competing priorities navigate technical and political challenges and keep land use safety planning front of mind. Youll set clear direction for your team build strong relationships and ensure resources are used wisely to deliver results that matter for NSW.
