Role Purpose
- Provide care to patients presenting with a range of urgent care presentations
- Minor injuries; including: sprains fractures and wounds
- Facilitating referrals to specialists
- Initial interpretation of x-rays and ECGs
- Indicate any procedures done
- Treat patients who attend the clinic for consultation
Education & Experience
- Registered with the Irish Medical Council.
- Minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in clinical practice including significant experience in general practice and a minimum of 2 years recent urgent care/ emergency medicine experience.
- Training in emergency medicine general practice or other postgraduate qualification would be highly beneficial.
- 6 months experience with paediatric patients is desirable.
- Flexibility across a 7-day roster.
- BLS
- Patient/customer focused
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills
- Good knowledge of risk management and clinical audit
- Demonstrated alignment to the Vhi values
