Job Title: Internal Quality Assessor (Engineering)

Job Description
The Internal Quality Assessor (IQA) for Engineering plays a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and compliance of the engineering education programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards across the curriculum and providing guidance to assessors to foster an environment of continuous improvement in teaching and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support delivery of the engineering curriculum ensuring alignment with established educational standards.
- Conduct internal quality assurance visits and support assessors in achieving their qualification requirements.
- Evaluate and review assessment processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.
- Provide feedback and training to assessors on best practices in assessment and internal quality assurance.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative departments to enhance program effectiveness and student outcomes.
- Prepare and maintain accurate documentation related to internal quality assurance processes.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and attend relevant training sessions.
Essential Qualifications
- Hold a relevant qualification in engineering or a related field.
- Qualified to assess vocational qualifications preferably with appropriate Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) credentials.
- Strong understanding of the educational framework and quality assurance processes within the UK.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Desired Experience
- Experience in assessing engineering qualifications and understanding of the qualification frameworks.
- Previous experience in a teaching or training role within an engineering context.
- Track record of implementing quality assurance practices in an educational setting.
- Proficiency in using assessment tools and educational technologies.

The salary for the Internal Quality Assessor position is competitive and will be commensurate with experience. The role offers an annual salary with part-time hours constituting 18.5 hours per week.
