Are you passionate about fighting financial crime and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements Join Westpacs Financial Crime Surveillance team as our Regulatory Notices Manager.

The Government Notices Unit team is part of Financial Crime Surveillance and is responsible for processing and responding to notice requests from regulators and law enforcement agencies. The team ensures compliance with financial crime regulations privacy laws and organisational policies when responding to external requests and notices.

Whats the role

The Regulatory Notices Manager will play a crucial role supporting and managing complex regulatory notices supporting a multi-brand team and delivering outcomes that safeguard our customers and organisation.

The role combines handling and responding to intricate notices such as court orders voluntary disclosures and requests from regulators and law enforcement agencies with stakeholder engagement and thought leadership in an exciting and fast paced environment

The role will act as a reference point for internal stakeholders and support projects as subject matter expert as well as:

  • Provide subject matter expertise (SME) and coaching to the team on regulatory notices and compliance matters.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for audit purposes and ensure effective controls are in place.
  • Actively contribute to process improvements that enhance business outcomes and customer experience.
  • Support operational managers and the broader Financial Crime team including onshore and offshore teams.
  • Deliver outcomes against service level agreements (SLAs) and quality targets.
  • Manage sensitive and confidential information in line with privacy and regulatory standards.

What do I need

To succeed in this role youll bring regulatory notice expertise legal insights proven leadership capability strong analytical and investigative skills and a solid track record in compliance and risk management.

Given the nature of the role excellent communication skills and technical proficiency relevant to financial crime and regulatory environments are essential. If you have previously practised as a lawyer this will be highly regarded given the legal and regulatory complexities of the position.
