ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
I. Area Program & Team Management
- Supervision: Manage the day-to-day clinical activities and supervise the clinical managers and associates assigned in Philadelphia.
- Financial & Productivity: Manage productivity labor and the budget for all accounts in Philadelphia to meet or exceed financial targets.
- Scheduling: Oversee the scheduling of clinical associates across Philadelphia including vacation scheduling.
- Personnel Management: Manage employment activities of clinical associates including recruitment interviewing hiring training performance appraisal and managing employee relations issues.
- Approve time reporting and maintain managers files for direct reports.
- Maintain current credentialing files for all associates.
- Leadership: Conduct regular associate meetings develop and manage open communications and manage change.
- Compliance & Administration: Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the Companys policies and applicable laws.
II. Clinical Quality & Compliance Oversight
- Quality Outcomes: Oversees quality outcomes to achieve quality targets.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and assure all clinical activities comply with:
- The Joint Commission Standards
- SpecialtyCares policies
- Applicable policies at the accounts
- Other applicable regulatory requirements including lab compliance.
- Quality Data:
- Provide quality data to customers as needed.
- Reporting: Participate in appropriate hospital committees for demonstration of quality blood and process and outcome improvement. Presents quality and outcome data to these committees and the surgeons on at least a quarterly basis or as needed.
- Corrective Action: Develop implement and oversee corrective action to address clinical credentialing or operational issues (e.g. charge capture quality reporting inventory management).
III. Stakeholder Relations & Business Growth
- Relationship Management: Works closely with the Area Managers in Philadelphia to serve as the primary point person at the account(s) for customers physicians vendors and the Companys business office associates.
- Client Satisfaction: Collaborates with Operations and Sales Management in building and maintaining relationships with customers to:
- Meet contractual requirements.
- Resolve clinical credentialing operational or business issues.
- Maintain client satisfaction retain and grow the regional accounts.
- Market new services.
IV. Clinical Practice & Operations
- Direct Clinical Service: Perform perfusion and other clinical services as needed based on individual credentialing privileges at the account(s) or program(s) working under the supervision of physicians when performing clinical procedures.
- Inventory Control: Ensure the Area Managers in Philadelphia are following sound inventory and equipment management practices.
- Equipment: Help monitor equipment operations and maintenance requirements with Area Managers.
- Resource Management: Ensure that the Clinical Managers in Philadelphia are maintaining appropriate capital equipment and disposable inventory and items are ordered stocked and available for all procedures.
- Documentation: Help the Area Managers in Philadelphia oversee the required documentation of procedures performed for medical and billing record purposes.
V. Communication & Values
- Work with other clinical staff and departments in performing above duties and responsibilities.
- Maintain regular weekly communication with direct supervisor.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor of Science degree in Perfusion Technology or
Bachelor of Science degree with a Certificate in Perfusion Technology from an accredited cardiovascular perfusion education program.
Certified by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) as a Certified Clinical Perfusionist.
Pennsylvania Perfusionist License if required.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Experience:
Five years experience as a Perfusionist including experience as a lead
Perfusionist or Manager.
o Additional levels of experience as a certified perfusionist may vary by position based on clinical and operational needs.
Additional:
Philadelphia residency is preferred.
