About the Role

Core Responsibilities

1. Pedagogical Vision & Creative Direction

• Define the instructional strategy and pedagogical principles for all math learning formats.
• Lead creative ideation for story-driven interactive and AI-enabled math learning experiences.
• Design culturally relevant and age-appropriate learning journeys aligned with math learning progressions.
• Mentor and guide the Math LXD team on conceptual clarity simplification storytelling and child-centered pedagogy.
• Set the tone structure and instructional design expectations for math content across all formats.

2. Design Math Learning Experiences

• Transform math concepts into intuitive stories activities games and interactions that spark curiosity and build deep understanding.
• Develop end-to-end learning flows and storyboards blending strong math pedagogy with creative design.
• Use instructional design frameworks to create scaffolded accurate and child-friendly learning experiences.
• Work with design and tech teams to translate storyboards into high-quality digital interactions.
• Ensure content is aligned with curriculum goals learner needs and diverse classroom realities.

3. Quality Assurance & Instructional Rigour

• Own the final review and sign-off for all math content.
• Ensure conceptual accuracy clarity sequencing and appropriate difficulty progression.
• Establish and maintain quality benchmarks across storybooks games interactives assessments and LBD activities.
• Provide clear structured and actionable feedback to writers illustrators animators voice artists and developers.
• Build review workflows that ensure consistency across multiple LXDs and concurrent projects.

4. Collaborate to Build Learning Experiences

• Work closely with illustrators animators designers voice artists and developers to bring math learning experiences to life.
• Translate learning goals and scripts into clear creative briefs interaction flows and UX notes.
• Align visual storytelling interactivity and narrative with math concepts and classroom use-cases.
• Support seamless cross-team execution maintaining clarity and alignment throughout development.

5. Pipeline Ownership & Cross-Functional Leadership

• Manage the full math content development pipeline across formats (stories interactives games assessments).
• Collaborate closely with Product Design Unity QA Marketing and Voiceover teams to ensure timely high-quality delivery.
• Plan and forecast timelines dependencies and resource needs across multiple parallel projects.
• Build efficient processes for feedback iteration and quality control.

6. Learn from Learners

• Lead or support classroom and user testing sessions with children and teachers.
• Use insights on misconceptions behaviours pacing issues and language gaps to refine learning design.
• Incorporate real classroom feedback to improve flow clarity interactions and engagement.

7. Innovation & Experimentation

• Stay updated with global trends in math education pedagogy and digital learning.
• Bring fresh creative ideas and learning formats into math content design.
• Experiment with new prototypes collect feedback and iterate quickly.
• Explore and evaluate emerging tools including AI-assisted creation to improve efficiency and quality.

Who Were Looking For

Must-Haves

• 5 years of experience in math learning design curriculum design instructional design or educational media.
• Strong conceptual and pedagogical grounding in K12 mathematics learning progressions and common misconceptions.
• Experience mentoring or leading learning designers or writers.
• Ability to manage content pipelines reviews and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong ability to simplify visualize and sequence math concepts for young learners.

Good to Have

• Experience in EdTech or large-scale curriculum or government-school programs.
• Familiarity with instructional design frameworks cognitive science child psychology and user research.
• Classroom or field experience with math learners from diverse Indian backgrounds.
• Experience with AI-assisted content creation (bonus).
