Job Summary
An opportunity has arisen for a high calibre Contract Manager position for the Broking Department. The successful candidate will report to the General Manager and oversee the broking department. The skills and experience in negotiation and brokering is essential for this position.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Follow up on Trucks that loaded the Previous day
- Provide feedback to the Clients regarding the Delivery Status
- Communicate / Manage offloading Status or Damages towards the Client
- Create Incident Numbers for Any Damages that is viable for a Future Claim.
- Providing Transporters with Loading Details for the Day
- Follow up on Loading ETAs for the Client
- Searching for new Transporters to sign up
- Handling the process of signing up new Sub Contractors
- Verifying that all the Documents received by new Transporters is Valid.
- Submitting New Transporter Documents onto Uniflow
- Assist the various Approvers with any Questions / Uncertainty
- Making sure that our Rates is Market Related on the different routes
- Liaise and negotiate with Transporters to meet our Operational requirements on a Daily Basis
- Building / Maintaining Relationships with Old and new Transporters
- Link Transporters to the Respected loads on Datatim
- Send Load Confirmations to the Various Transporters
Minimum Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Road Transport or Logistics or a Degree in Management with financial electives 5-7 years experience in a Logistics and Supply Chain management environment 1-2 Years for the most complex task (strategic planning focuses on the next years activities) Knowledge of Logistics and Supply Chain Management Knowledge of logistics equipment Knowledge of fuel management Knowledge of equipment maintenance management General knowledge of the operations and configurations of mechanical vehicles Knowledge of cross-border operations Knowledge of general expense management / budgeting Management skills Sound knowledge of policies and procedures in supply chain and logistics management Human resources management skills Knowledge of Company Disciplinary and Grievance procedures Knowledge of recruitment and disciplinary procedures Relevant written and verbal contracts / service level agreements National Bargaining Council Agreements Microsoft Office skills with advanced Excel
