Type: In-Office Temporary 6 month Contract Monday Friday 8:00AM 5:00PM
Location: Edmonton Southeast Industrial Park

Key Responsibilities
As the Accountant you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records and supporting timely financial reporting. Your responsibilities will include:

• Financial Reporting & Accounting Operations:
  • Manage key accounting functions including treasury operations bank reconciliations intercompany account reconciliations prepaid expenses monthly accruals and ad hoc journal entries.
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reports to support decision-making and compliance with accounting standards.
• Account Management:
  • Support vendor and customer account activities to maintain data integrity and facilitate smooth financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate records.
• Audit & Compliance:
  • Assist in preparation and coordination of annual financial audits and internal reviews ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of accounting processes to enhance efficiency accuracy and fiscal accountability.
• Health Safety & Governance:
  • Adhere to all relevant QHSSE procedures and internal controls to support a safe secure and environmentally responsible workplace.

Qualifications
To succeed in this role candidates should demonstrate the following:

• Education & Experience:
  • Bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related field required; CPA designation or progress toward certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in a management or general accounting role with exposure to month-end close and financial reporting processes.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with financial analysis tools are an asset.
  • Solid understanding of IFRS and internal control principles.
• Key Competencies:
  • Strong analytical organizational and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement.
