The Senior Tax Accountant performs key income tax equity and fixed asset functions. This role supports the Senior Director of Tax & Accounting with the income tax function and ensures the integrity of accounting principles within the organization.
Your Impact and Responsibilities:
- Support income tax compliance by preparing and filing income tax returns
- Maintain tax calendars estimated payment deadlines and resolve income tax notices
- Analyze fixed assets for tax treatment and support the quarterly tax provision process
- Assist with federal state and local tax audits and prepare related workpapers
- Perform tax research and analysis for tax treatment of company transactions and operations
- Analyze company financial statements for changes in book-to-tax adjustments
- Collaborate with the broader Accounting team on tax-related projects and initiatives
- Serve as the point of contact for outside tax consultants on tax-related projects
Qualifications :
Required Qualifications:
- 3 years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax department
- Experience with large multi-state corporate or partnership income tax
- Bachelors degree in accounting finance or a related field
- Proficiency with OneSource Income Tax or similar tax preparation software
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel PowerPoint and Word
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shifting priorities
- Self-driven and flexible with strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with a Fortune 500 or similarly sized private company tax compliance environment
- CPA certification or progress toward certification
