As a Tax Manager you will have the opportunity to provide a range of tax and advisory services to a diverse client base including small fast-growing clients and large public entities.
- Apply industry specific knowledge to advise clients on the tax implications of their business objections evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden and cost of compliance identifying different methods of complying with tax regulations while acting as the primary client contact for complex tax issues
- Assumes responsibility for large complicated tax returns and delegates to tax preparers as deemed necessary
- Handle tax preparation and review for individuals and flow-through entities including Forms-S and 1041
- Provide tax compliance and consulting services to various entities in a variety of industries
- Performs technical tax review on complex returns of individuals corporations partnerships estates and trusts
- Able to communicate complex tax issues to non-tax professionals and clients
- Respond to federal and state tax notices that impact clients
- Maintaining a list of clients that will be yours to manage and grow
- Serve as the in-charge individual on client engagements
- Manage multiple engagements and competing priorities effectively
- Work efficiently and effectively while working remotely
- Execute work with a commitment to quality and adherence to the highest degree of professional standards and ethics
- Supervise and mentor a team of tax staff ensuring high-quality project delivery
- Assist in managing administrative activities for the department and partake in ongoing firm development
- Personally coach and develop a highly trained team and actively participate in development of the practice
- In this role you will be charged with applying knowledge to understand potential tax issues and recognizing communicating potential risks and potential changes in the tax policy and making top-level decisions regarding filing preparation and resolution of questions from federal / state agencies
Experience recommended for this position:
- At least 5 years working for a public accounting firm preparing and reviewing tax returns
- A Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Experienced in Individual Partnership Flow-Through and Trust returns
- Preparation and review of financial statements and complex tax returns
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively with clients.
- CPA Preferred
- Experience with CCH Axcess is preferred but not required
