Role Impact & Expectations
The Corporate Accountant (7 years experience required) will serve as a senior contributor within the accounting organization responsible for executing complex compensation accounting managing end-to-end month-end close cycles and ensuring operational compliance within a public-company environment. This role requires advanced proficiency in NetSuite strong command of SOX controls and deep experience with payroll bonus and equity-related accounting. You will partner with FP&A HR Payroll and system administrators to ensure financial accuracy and support cross-functional initiatives that elevate reporting efficiency and internal controls. Candidates with backgrounds in high-growth software or technology companies will be well-aligned for success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and execute full-cycle monthly quarterly and annual close activities ensuring accuracy timeliness and alignment with GAAP
- Prepare review and reconcile complex compensation-related journal entries including multi-state payroll bonuses equity/RSUs commissions and benefits
- Own SOX-compliant documentation including control narratives evidence gathering periodic testing support and control enhancement recommendations
- Drive process improvement and optimization initiatives reducing manual workflows and enhancing reporting efficiency
- Manage advanced account reconciliation and variance analyses for payroll liabilities accrued expenses compensation accounts and intercompany activities
- Maintain and optimize NetSuite modules including GL configuration workflows mapping and saved searches
- Support system integrations and enhancements including Coupa and Blackline automation
- Partner with FP&A to align on headcount compensation forecasting and expense modeling
- Ensure US GAAP compliance across compensation accruals and internal control areas
Required Experience & Skills
Required (Must-Have):
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience preferably in public-company environments
- Advanced NetSuite experience (GL modules workflows saved searches)
- Strong background in public-company compensation accounting (payroll commissions bonuses equity/RSUs)
- Deep understanding of SOX controls documentation testing and external audit interactions
- Strong command of account reconciliation accruals and GAAP
- Ability to work cross-functionally with HR Payroll FP&A and auditors
- Strong documentation and financial controls mindset
Preferred:
- Experience with Coupa (procurement invoices AP workflows)
- Experience with Blackline (reconciliations matching automation)
- Experience in software/technology industry accounting
