Senior Accountant Location: Chicago IL (Onsite)

Compensation: $72300 $% bonus
About the Role The Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting accounting operations month-end close financial reporting and compliance for a public company environment. This individual will work closely with cross-functional teams apply strong technical accounting knowledge and ensure accuracy and integrity across financial processes. The ideal candidate is a proactive detail-oriented professional with Big 4 experience and a strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting standards.
Key Responsibilities -
Support monthly quarterly and annual close activities ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

Prepare and review journal entries account reconciliations and variance analyses.

Assist with quarterly earnings preparation and reporting in accordance with SEC guidelines.

Ensure adherence to US GAAP and internal accounting policies.

Collaborate with internal teams to drive accurate financial results and process improvements.

Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation to external auditors.

Participate in special projects system enhancements and continuous improvement initiatives.

Manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced evolving environment.
Required Qualifications -
4 6 years of accounting experience

Bachelors Degree in Accountancy or related field

CPA license preferred

Experience in public accounting; Big 4 strongly preferred

Strong knowledge of US GAAP month-end close processes and public-company reporting

Experience supporting quarterly earnings preparation in accordance with SEC guidance

Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables lookups formulas)

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and produce accurate results

High learning agility and intellectual curiosity

Ability to build strong relationships across all levels and functions

Self-starter who works independently and also thrives in a team environment
