A Brief Overview

Responsible for the development and analysis of data using statistical methods and tools to prepare data for use by committees teams and staff. Accountable for developing managing and evaluating all aspects of the Infection Prevention program in accordance with current Federal State and Local standards guidelines and regulations as directed by the Quality Care Committee. Supports division/regional goal of excellence in patient care in a Christian caring environment by facilitating positive employee relations and supporting department goals. Responsible for assisting IPAC leadership with surveillance prevention and control of infection.

What you will do

  • Coordinates facilitates and implements quality improvement activities supporting the Hospital Quality Improvement Program.
  • Provides education advice and assistance to departments administration and medical staff on quality and infection prevention initiatives including creating presentations graphs and teaching tools.
  • Reviews analyzes and prepares reports on internal and external quality measures and infection statistics; conduct clinical studies and compile findings for reporting and education.
  • Manages data downloads formatting and electronic submissions to vendors; maintain program logs and databases.
  • Maintains active membership on assigned committees including organizing meetings preparing agendas and reports.
  • Implements and monitors compliance with infection prevention and control (IPAC) policies and procedures; perform surveillance using NHSN definitions and ensure accurate data submission.
  • Investigates outbreaks monitor infection trends and recommend performance improvement strategies; collaborate with public health for communicable disease reporting.
  • Collaborates with Employee Health Environmental Safety and departments to educate staff monitor compliance and recommend improvements; participates in environmental and departmental rounds.
  • Maintains infection prevention knowledge through APIC membership conferences and continuing education.

Required Education License/Certification or Work Experience:

  • Certified In Infection Control - Certification Board of Infection Control and Epidemiology Inc. (CBIC) Infection Prevention & Control (CIC) within 2 Years
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Board of Nursing An active license in the state of practice Upon Hire

Preferred Education License/Certification or Work Experience:

  • 1-3 years Acute care clinical nursing experience
  • Experience in healthcare data analysis and quality improvement
