Job Summary

We have an exciting opportunity to join the team at Epworth Geelong as a part-time Patient Liaison Officer. You will be responsible for the management of patient and carer complaints and will report directly to the quality manager.

You will make an impact by:

  • Ensuring that complaints are handled in a timely consistent and empathetic manner across the site.
  • Initiating early intervention with patients caregivers and staff.
  • Providing thorough timely and appropriate investigation of feedback.
  • Ensure appropriate co-ordination and escalation of patient complaints to relevant internal and / or external parties
  • Contribute to prevention strategies and debrief for staff and doctors.

To be successful in this role

You will have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong customer service focus
  • Ability to work with a diverse range of people both internally and externally
  • Highly developed negotiation skills and experience in dispute resolution
  • Sound knowledge of hospital systems and patient care processes is highly desirable
