Job Summary
Job Description
Our client is seeking an experienced Accounting Officer for a long-term contract to provide coverage during a maternity leave.
Joining a supportive and collaborative finance team based in Halifax this role is fully remote and ideal for someone who is adaptable detail-oriented and confident working independently while staying connected with a team.
Key Responsibilities for the Job:
- Process accounts payable
- Prepare and complete general ledger reconciliations
- Perform regular bank reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
- Monitor transactions for accuracy and ensure proper coding
- Support the preparation of financial reports as needed
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
Experience & Attributes for Success:
- Post-secondary education in accounting business or other related program is strongly preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered
- 35 years of relevant hands-on accounting experience
- Experience using Globe software (or similar accounting platforms) is an asset
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a team
- Proactive and resourceful with a willingness to learn
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
