The Role
The Assistant Management Accountant US role will be pivotal in preparing the US financials with support and oversight from the US Country Finance Manager. The Assistant Management Accountant - US is responsible for the day-to-day processing and reconciling of the US financials including but not limited to balance sheet reconciliations (including fixed assets bank intercompany prepayments accruals) margin analysis and will support the US Country Finance Manager in preparing monthly reporting statutory accounts and ad hoc analysis as needed.
Main duties and responsibilities
Banks
- Reconciling bank accounts on a weekly basis and working with the Relocation Management team on missing/unreconciled transactions
- Closing off the bank reconciliations within the month end deadline
- Process bank deposits
Intercompany
- Updating the intercompany within the month end deadline and working with the operations team on missing items
Journal Entries
- Posting month end journal entries in areas such as fixed assets accruals prepayments deferred/accrued income
- Review of overheads to see if any expenses need to be accrued or prepaid
- Additional entries as needed
Reconciliations
- Ownership and maintenance of balance sheet reconciliations
- Responsible for the maintenance of accrual/WIP tracker ensuring it agrees to the TB monthly and is cleansed monthly to remove old items
Margin Analysis
- Preparing the margin analysis workbook and supporting the US Country Finance Manager on analyzing the margins
Additional Duties
- Supporting the Finance team to complete the month end in a 5-10 working day timeline
- Support monthly quarterly half-year and year-end financial close
- Improvements/Analysis/Project work to complete after month end
- Research and resolve accounting issues
- Coordinate and assist with audits as needed
- Collaborate with internal teams to support various accounting projects
- Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes
- Comply with information security regulations principles and obligations in line with ISO with emphasis on continued learning as technology changes. Maintain software and data encryption in line with compliance and relevant data protection laws globally ensure the safety integrity and accountability of all the data we handle
- All other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in accounting business accounting or finance.
- Professional experience in accounting at least 1 year experience
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and client information
- Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Knowledge of accounting software (Sage X3 desirable)
- Self-confident and motivated works on own initiative and as a part of the team
- Organizing and prioritizing daily/weekly tasks
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Can do attitude and ability to learn quickly
- Building and developing working relationships with key partners and with K2 colleagues
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and client information
- Works well in a team environment
- Demonstrate company acumen
- Ability to remain in a stationary position often sitting for prolonged periods
- Domestic and/or global travel when required
