Job Title:Fire Alarm Technician
Location:San Antonio TX (Onsite)
Summary:
The Fire Alarm Technician installs programs maintains and repairs fire alarm and security alarm systems for commercial clients. This role requires strong low-voltage electrical skills the ability to read technical diagrams and proven troubleshooting capabilities. The technician will conduct site surveys perform system upgrades document all work and ensure that all life-safety systems meet required operational and code standards. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented technician who enjoys fieldwork problem-solving and delivering high-quality customer service.
What Youll Do:
- Install program and test fire alarm systems for commercial buildings.
- Conduct site surveys to identify optimal equipment placement and system design needs.
- Troubleshoot diagnose and repair alarms panels detectors and low-voltage system components.
- Upgrade outdated systems and replace faulty detection or control units.
- Perform routine inspections maintenance and system functionality checks.
- Train customers on system operation features and safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate documentation of installations service work and maintenance activities.
- Collaborate with team members and project managers to meet deadlines.
- Stay current with evolving fire alarm technology brands licensing requirements and industry codes.
- Perform additional assigned duties in support of safe and effective operations.
Experience Youll Need:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Multi-year experience as a Fire Alarm Technician or related low-voltage technician preferred.
- Working knowledge of fire alarm systems CCTV access control and security systems preferred.
- Ability to program fire alarm panels and operate software via laptop tablet or mobile device.
- Proficiency reading blueprints wiring diagrams and technical schematics.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in low-voltage electrical systems.
