Responsibilities
- Assess and treat patients presenting with acute medical conditions
- Perform necessary medical procedures and interventions
- Collaborate with nursing staff and specialists to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Adhere to clinical guidelines and protocols
- Participate in emergency department meetings and training sessions
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding health conditions
- Respond to medical emergencies and take appropriate action
Requirements
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Current medical license to practice in the state of Indiana
- Board certification or eligibility in Emergency Medicine
- Previous experience in an emergency department setting preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure environment
- Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous improvement
Schedule: 5p-1a or 7p-3a
No call required
Level III Trauma
Daily Volume: 23 patients
Annual Volume: 60000 patients
Support Staff: APPs
EMR: Cerner
Must be board-certified or board-eligible
