About the Role

Our government client is seeking an experienced Security Project Manager to lead the implementation and uplift of the Australian Cyber Security Centre (ACSC) Essential Eight across a complex enterprise environment. This role is integral to strengthening the organisations cyber resilience ensuring consistent maturity uplift and aligning security controls with government standards and risk frameworks. They strongly seek someone who has implemented this at previous organisations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end planning execution and delivery of the Essential Eight uplift program.
Coordinate technical security and business stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
Develop project documentation including plans schedules risk registers and reporting packs.
Oversee assessment of current maturity levels and define uplift pathways to target maturity.
Manage vendors internal teams and third-party partners supporting the implementation.
Monitor and report progress to executive and governance committees.
Ensure alignment with government cyber security policies ISM PSPF and internal frameworks.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience delivering cyber security or technology risk projects within government or highly regulated environments.
Strong understanding of the ACSC Essential Eight including implementation challenges and maturity assessment.
Experience working within a Government organisation would be highly desirable.
Background in project management methodologies
Excellent stakeholder engagement communication and negotiation skills.
Experience coordinating technical teams including security operations networks and infrastructure.
Ability to translate complex security requirements into actionable project deliverables.
