How you will contribute to our mission in getting Australia to space:

The below is designed to give you an idea of the role you will play. There will be many more exciting and innovative things to do.

Engage with engineering and operational teams to collect interpret and assess launch vehicle and mission data for use in the Risk Hazard Analysis (RHA).
Develop and maintain a library of third-party information and reference material required to support the RHA process.
Conduct RHAs for activities governed under the SLR Act and for internal development or research activities.
Review Flight Safety Plans to assess the suitability and effectiveness of proposed controls and mitigation strategies.
Perform impact assessments and sensitivity analyses to evaluate how design or operational changes affect the overall mission safety case.
Develop refine and maintain the methodologies modelling approaches and processes employed by the Flight Safety Department in support of RHAs.
Prepare technical analysis documentation and presentations for internal reviews and regulatory submissions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Flight Safety Department.
Other duties as requested by Management.

Mandatory Qualifications Skills and Experience:

Bachelors degree in Physics Mathematics Mechanical Electrical Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering or another relevant discipline.
Understanding of reliability engineering fundamentals.
Strong mathematical background (modelling probability statistics or numerical methods).
Experience with Python for data analysis modelling or automation.
Ability to work in fast-paced rapidly evolving environments.
Willingness to work collaboratively and assist team members across disciplines.

Desired QualificationsSkills and Experience:

Experience with risk assessments reliability analysis or safety-critical systems.
Experience preparing engineering documentation or safety-related technical reports.
Familiarity with MATLAB or other analysis tools.
Experience working with complex or multi-disciplinary engineering data sets.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Basic understanding of systems engineering fundamentals.
Ability to obtain NV1 Security Clearance.
