Bethune-Cookman University Job Title: Dean College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CNHS) Department: College of Nursing and Health Sciences Reports To: Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs Position Type: Full-Time (12-Month Appointment) The Dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CNHS) serves as the chief academic and administrative officer for the College providing visionary leadership strategic direction and operational oversight for all undergraduate and graduate programs housed within CNHS. The Dean is responsible for fostering academic excellence supporting faculty development managing budgets and accreditations advancing research and innovation strengthening external partnerships and promoting student success and community engagement in alignment with Bethune-Cookman Universitys mission of faith scholarship and service. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Serve as the chief executive and academic leader for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
- Oversee multiple academic units and degree programs in nursing allied health and health sciences.
- Provide leadership in curriculum innovation program development and accreditation compliance
- Develop and oversee a comprehensive recruitment plan to increase majors in the undergraduate and graduate programs of the college
- Conduct a curriculum review to ensure degree offerings reflect industry demand and proper student preparation
- Pursue accreditation of counseling and nursing graduate programs
- Develop student recruitment and employment pipelines in the region
- Lead and support faculty and staff recruitment evaluation promotion and professional development.
- Oversee budgets resource allocation and fiscal planning.
- Coordinate implementation of the CNHS Strategic Plan.
- Direct program reviews and accreditation efforts (ACEN CACREP CAATE CEPH)
- Build and maintain partnerships with healthcare organizations and community agencies.
- Engage in fundraising alumni relations and development activities.
- Promote initiatives addressing workforce development and community health needs.
Qualifications: - Terminal or advanced degree (Ph.D. Ed.D. or equivalent) in a discipline related to health sciences healthcare administration or higher education.
- Management experience at the department chair level or higher.
- Experience with accreditation curriculum assessment and student learning outcomes.
- Proven ability to engage in fundraising and community partnerships.
- Strong record of collaborative leadership and organizational management.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and conflict-resolution skills.
- Demonstrated success in strategic planning or program expansion.
- Commitment to diversity equity inclusion and belonging.
- Familiarity with accreditation agencies relevant to health sciences and allied health programs.
