Job Summary
Guidance Counselor Portage High School
School counselors work to maximize student success promoting access and equity for all students.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist students with academic planning and goal setting
- Collaboration with families/teachers/administrators/community to achieve student success
- Advocate for students at IEP meeting and other student focused meetings
- Data analysis to identify student issues needs and challenges
- Acting as a systems change agent to improve equity and access achievement and opportunities for all students
- Assist students in planning for post secondary options (higher education military work force)
- All other duties as assigned
Minimal Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in school counseling preferred
- Meet the state certification/licensure standards
- Fulfill CE requirements
- Uphold ASCA ethical and professional standards.
