Job Summary

About the role

Band 5 - base salary from $121231 per annum (plus super) - total package to be negotiated with preferred candidate based on skills and experience

At TasNetworks were looking for a motivated Vegetation and Insurance Specialist to play a key role in keeping our network safe and reliable by helping drive the planning and delivery of vegetation management programs with some additional responsibilities linked to our insurance processes.

This is a great opportunity for someone with strong analytical organisational and communication skills who enjoys variety collaboration and contributing to programs that directly protect our people our customers and the environment. The role suits someone whos comfortable working with data and risk insights engaging with operational teams and contractors and helping strengthen how we plan prioritise and manage vegetation risks across the network.

While the position also contributes to the insurance portfolio its primary focus is the vegetation program and performance.



Duties Of The Role Include

  • Drive the planning and tracking of vegetation programs across the state.
  • Establish maintain and improve vegetation management plans and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
  • Lead risk profiling incident reviews and the development of proactive vegetation management strategies.
  • Lead and collaboratively evaluate innovative and resilience-based approaches to managing vegetation risk.
  • Coordinate contractor and partner reporting to ensure safety reliability and performance standards are met.
  • Provide administrative and reporting support to insurance operations including renewals registers and claims tracking.

About you

Youll also bring:

  • A tertiary qualification in Risk Asset Management Business Environmental Management or a related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong analytical and research capability with the ability to track performance and manage detailed documentation
  • Confident communication and positive relationship-building skills with the ability to influence and work effectively across all levels of internal and external stakeholders
  • Solid skills in Microsoft Excel Word and PowerPoint and enthusiasm for learning new tools and systems
  • A proactive safety-first mindset and a commitment to continuous improvement and sustainable outcomes
  • A keen interest in vegetation risk network resilience or asset management with experience in GIS Power BI SQL DAX or Python and a solid understanding of regulatory or risk-based programs in utilities or infrastructure (desirable)
