The Court and Justice Services (CJS) Division provides a wide range of resolution and court services for people involved in legal collaboration with the courts of Alberta Court and Justice Services provides various programs and services including educating and helping Albertans finding solutions for legal issues navigating the court system offering programs at no cost or a nominal charge and administrative support to all courts in Alberta. As a key member reporting to the Manager Court Policy youll have the unique opportunity to support senior and executive management by addressing action requests and providing vital information to the public and other stakeholders. Dive into a variety of short and long-term research projects on government initiatives policies programs and services that impact court and resolution services in Alberta. This role is perfect for someone eager to make a meaningful difference and drive positive change!

You will play a key role in the following:

  • Conduct research and synthesize timely accurate and complete information to support recommendations to senior and executive management including the Minister of Justice and Solicitor General in the form of Briefing Notes memos meeting agendas reports policies or proposals.
  • Work collaboratively within the team and colleagues from other divisions and/or departments and/or stakeholders in an advisory capacity.
  • Access diverse contact base or perform research to respond directly to telephone calls e-mails and letters regarding resolution and court services operations procedures services and programs.
  • Use research and analysis skills to aid in information gathering sharing and support evaluation of programs or initiatives.
  • Define problems develop and propose recommendations and alternatives that will support executive decision making policy development operational effectiveness or support operational and strategic planning.
  • Participate in project coordination and initiative implementation within the division and other divisions within the Ministry and/or within other departments with the provincial government.
