Job Summary
SUMMARY
The Capital Planning Analyst Student provides analytical support that strengthens capital planning decisions. This role manages large complex data sets and applies analysis visualization and interpretation to generate actionable business insights. A strong commitment to data integrity is essential. All duties are conducted in support of and under the supervision of the Capital Planning Program Manager.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Capital Planning
- Executes capital plan deliverables and is responsible for maintenance of on-going changes to the capital plan and budgets
- Triages and tracks project requests made by the client facility management and project management teams
- Identifies and creates projects from building condition assessment data and recommends accurate scopes of work justifications and high-level estimates
- Benchmarks project costs against past tenders and project reports (e.g. maintenance repair and replacement work) to support accurate capital planning
- Integrates capital plan with other data sources (e.g. roof inspection data engineering reports etc.)
- Produces and maintains the Multi-Year Capital Plan
- Produces and maintains the Annual Capital Plan
- Supports delivering capital plans used to meet KPIs and contract deliverables
Data Analysis
- Responsible for integrity of capital planning data within BGISs information systems including proprietary systems
- Compiles and maintains large volumes of capital planning data within information management systems to support various reporting benchmarking and analytical requirements
- Executes ad-hoc calculations and analyses based on client requests to assist with business communication and decision-making
- Maintains the Asset Management Dashboard and ensures insights remain current and relevant
Strategic Asset Management Support
- Assists Capital Planning Manager with strategic asset management activities
- Conducts integrated working sessions with other work streams to align planning analysis and project prioritization
Process Improvement Collaboration and Training
- Collaborates in process improvement initiatives and implementation
- Trains field personnel and system users in the correct operation of business tools processes and procedures
- Performs other duties as assigned
