About the role.

We are seeking an experienced logistics professional to drive operational excellence in our freight and cold storage business. While the role can be based anywhere in New Zealand Timaru is preferred to support close collaboration with our operations. In this pivotal role you will ensure Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and Health & Safety compliance oversee all NZ legislative requirements and deliver best-in-class transport and storage solutions. Youll work collaboratively to manage local intercompany and export orders guarantee SAP-based deployment accuracy and take ownership of transport planning.

Key responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date sales orders communicating effectively with all stakeholders and generating operational insights using SAP and BI tools. Youll lead regular reviews with our freight and storage partners support cost management contribute to contractual processes and respond promptly to escalations to maintain superior customer service. Maintaining inventory accuracy through cycle counts and stocktakes will also be central to your remit.

What youll be doing.

• Drive Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and Health & Safety compliance across all freight and storage operations.
• Ensure adherence to all NZ legislative requirements in transport and cold storage.
• Collaborate with internal and external teams to manage and fulfill local intercompany and export orders.
• Guarantee accurate product placement and maintain data for SAP-driven deployment plans.
• Oversee transport planning managing correct supply points quantities and scheduling for all freight movements.
• Update and maintain sales orders and ensure accurate communications to stakeholders including cold stores and carriers.
• Provide forecasts and operational information to logistics partners using SAP and BI tools.
• Lead regular performance and relationship reviews with storage and freight providers; contribute to contract processes.
• Support inventory accuracy via cycle counts and stocktakes; manage daily shipment cost documentation and reconciliation.
• Respond promptly to escalations and customer concerns ensuring high service levels.

What youll need to be successful.

• Tertiary qualification in Logistics Supply Chain Management or related field
• 35 years leadership experience in temperature-controlled warehousing and distribution (desirable)
• Experience managing intra intercompany and export logistics flows
• Advanced analytical and systems skills; proficiency in SAP Excel etc.
• Sound knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) requirements
• Experience managing suppliers including SLAs and contracts
• Proven ability to develop and implement cost-effective processes
• Skilled in load planning including weight maximisation and tolerances
• Demonstrated project management abilities
