PRIMARY AUTHORITY AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Follow directions and meet the expectations of the supervising teacher/specialist/administrator Be familiar with student IEPs and able to implement specialized instruction as well as social-emotional and behavioral strategies under the direct supervision of the special education teacher/specialist Implement de-escalation strategies behavior plans and collect behavior data with the training and support of the special education teacher and staff Be child-centered Collaborate and communicate regularly with teachers/supervisors/specialists as requested by the supervising teacher Maintain student confidentiality at work and after hours at all times Understand the range of disabilities within a classroom and ask for information if particular disabilities are not understood Carry out other related special education duties as may be assigned by their supervisor(s) which may include toileting and other ADL skills
