Salary Range: $35.01 - $43.76 hourly 8% vacation pay. Placement within the range is typically between the minimum and midpoint and based on qualifications and experience subject matter expertise and internal equity with consideration for how the candidate is developing meets or exceeds the roles requirements.

POSITION SUMMARY
Employees of the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia (Assembly) provide professional non-partisan services to support the democratic institution of Parliament and its members through procedural advice administrative support and information services. The Assembly is an autonomous employer separate from the administrative framework of B.C. government ministries and agencies.
The Hansard Services department is seeking a detail-oriented analytical and adaptable individual for the auxiliary as-and-when position of Parliamentary Audio Visual Technician.
Reporting to the Audio Operations Supervisor the Parliamentary Audio Visual Technician (PAVT) is responsible for the live management of customized audio systems live annotation of parliamentary proceedings and live hybrid video communication system management and administration during the sittings of the Legislative Assembly and parliamentary committees. The PAVT ensures Members can participate in parliamentary debate remotely and in-person by accurately capturing audio and ensuring recording of all parliamentary meetings to form the official record of the Legislative Assembly. The role includes audio visual (AV) support for events at the Legislature and travelling committee meetings taking place across British Columbia contributing to broader visibility and accessibility of legislative business.
