Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated Coverage Banker - (Local Account Manager LAM) to join our international client-facing team this role you will take ownership of yourownclient portfolio in the Netherlands manage and grow it in coordination with the Parent Account Manager (PAM) who is responsible for the client relationship on a global level. You will coordinate and collaborate with various Wholesale Banking product and client service teams to ensure your clients needs are met and a superior client experience is delivered.

This position offers an excellent opportunity to build your further develop your commercial skills and client coverage experience drive your own P&L and grow within a supportive and collaborative team.


The team

The Network Sector Coverage (NSC) team is part the sector coverage organisation inAmsterdam. We are the largest NSC teams across INGs international network and are responsible for a portfolio of 400 clients. The team operates as the first point of contact for Netherlands-based subsidiaries of multinational clients of ING. With this setup we aim to be the preferred banking partner of INGs multinational clients active in the Netherlands.

In this role you will coverclients with whom we have a local dialogue and actively originate new business opportunities. Additionally you will focus on expanding our client base originating new opportunities and developing relationship with prospective clients (Dutch subsidiaries). You report to theHead of Network Sector Coverage Netherlands.

Roles and responsibilities

We are looking for a professional combines commercial experience with the ability to maintain develop and stimulate client relationships while managing the client need for financial products and services offered by ING. You identify new opportunities for growth and have an ambition to pursue these. You have a relentless drive to keep getting better each day and can process requests with diligence and speed.

The NSC team is at the center of our ING strategy with network business being one of three core differentiators of ING Wholesale Banking strategy. You will have the unique opportunity to be part of the global Virtual Clients Teams (VCTs) and learn from the PAMs (across the globe) as well as from the various product teams. You will grow your expertise and a wide variety of skills as well as build a strong (international) network.

Your tasks

  • Drive the NSC growth ambitionin the Netherlands
  • Ensure proactive coverage of the assigned client portfolio of complex client relationships/transactions grow the relationshipsand engage with prospective new clients to develop new client relationships
  • Build and grow trustworthy client and prospect relationships to originate new business opportunities for ING by actively pitching core banking products
  • Implement VCT strategies and work closely with PAMs and product teams to optimize cross-buy and increase share of wallet
  • Be responsible for the growth and financial performance of your portfolio focusing on growing revenues in a capital-efficient manner
  • Keep business safe and compliant adhering to all applicable internal policies


How to succeed

To succeed in this role youll ideally bring the following:

  • A Bachelor or Masters degree in Economics/Finance Management Law or comparable
  • 6 years of professional experience with commercial track record within a sector or product team
  • A solid understanding of the market environment and the core banking products including daily banking and financing solutions
  • A genuine team player with a culturally sensitive and international mindset
  • You have a talent for building long-term sustainable relationships by contributing fresh ideas and a broad perspective
  • You are hands-on enthusiastic and highly self-motivated. You are deal-oriented you take it on and make it happen
  • You stay committed to the ING Orange Code behaviours and values. You share knowledge and initiative and foster a culture of collaboration and inclusiveness
  • You are a strong communicator who can manage multiple stakeholders successfully
  • You have an excellent command of the English language and preferably at least a conversational level of Dutch
