Job Summary
Were hiring a skilled and dependable Math & ELA Tutor to support students in grades K8 with the ability to assist high school students considered a strong plus. This is an in-person part-time tutoring role working with students who need support in foundational math reading comprehension writing and overall academic confidence.
Perfect for teachers substitute teachers education majors student teachers experienced tutors or anyone who enjoys working with younger learners and helping them grow.
Responsibilities
Provide individualized math and ELA tutoring for students
Break down concepts into clear manageable steps to support understanding
Assist with homework classwork review writing support and skill development
Build confidence through encouragement goal-setting and consistent guidance
Communicate student progress through session notes and occasional parent updates
Qualifications
Experience tutoring or teaching in math and ELA for K8 students
Ability to support additional grade levels (especially high school) is a plus
Strong understanding of elementary and middle school curriculum standards
Reliable transportation for in-home sessions in Carlsbad Oceanside and nearby areas
Dependable professional and committed to student success
After-school availability (37pm); daytime availability is a bonus
Minimum 3-month commitment preferred
Bachelors degree or current enrollment in education or a related field preferred
