This candidate will be an integral part of a high performing team with a particular focus on the federal and state income tax compliance of Nelnet and its multiple joint ventures.This position offers a hybrid work option. Nelnet values flexibility and understands the importance of work-life integration. Our hybrid work environment allows associates living within 30 miles of our Lincoln Nebraska office location to work remotely for part of the week while also fostering collaboration and team connection through in-office presence three days per week.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Prepare federal and state income tax filings and supporting documentation for various joint ventures
2. Prepare state income tax filings and apportionment support for Nelnets consolidated subsidiaries
3. Prepare various gross receipt tax return filings
4. Analyze tax correspondence and route to responsible parties
5. Perform occasional tax research and planning analysis
EDUCATION:
Bachelors Degree required in Accounting or Business Administration with an emphasis in Taxation. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Track - Preferred
EXPERIENCE:
2 years of tax compliance and return preparation experience in a public accounting firm tax research & planning experience and a good general knowledge of GAAP. Multi-state tax preparation experience is preferred.

7. Teamwork: able and willing to support the tax team in a variety of projects.
8. Extensive Microsoft Excel experience: utilizing a variety of functions.
Pay range for this role is $55000-$75000 annually depending on experience.
