JOB SUMMARY
The Desk Assistant (DA) is a part-time paraprofessional staff member of the Department of Residence Life. They are primarily responsible for serving as customer service representatives for the department and reporters of all security concerns. The DAs also addresses policy violations performs various administrative tasks and serves as a resource for students. The position description listed below encompasses the major expectations of DAs.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Confirm residency of students as they swipe within the residence hall.
- Ensure guests are properly signed in and out of residence halls.
- Know the RA on call system and important resource phone numbers.
- Maintain computer desk logs in an accurate and orderly manner.
- Report any necessary information to Residence Lifes Professional Staff.
- Maintain order and neatness in the working area (the desk).
- Conduct self in a professional manner while at the desk.
- Market communication and material from Residence Life
FEDERAL WORK STUDY REQUIREMENT
NO -- Federal Work Study eligibility not required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Full time student.
- Commit to between 6 to 10 hours per week.
- Federal Work Study (FWS) eligible are preferred.
