Applications for Groundworker Apprentice Lineworker and Journeyman Lineworker are being accepted in our Fiber Division. As a Groundworker this position supports the Fiber Plant operations and will learn the skill of the electric lineman trade by becoming familiar with work in the maintenance construction and operation of overhead and underground electric distribution system. The successful candidate will be classified as Groundworker; during a 6-month probationary period. Once advanced to 1st Year Apprentice the individual will enroll in TVPPAs Lineman Apprenticeship program and will complete assignments and final testing as required. As an Apprentice Lineworker under the leadership of the Line Crew Foreman this position will learn the skills of the trade performing skilled work in maintenance construction and operation of the overhead and underground electric distribution system. As a Journeyman Lineworker in our Fiber Division you will play a crucial role in the installation operation maintenance and repair of fiber optic infrastructure.

- Completes all work assigned by OSP Supervisor.
- Works near energized or de-energized lines and equipment while installing and maintaining fiber optics facilities.
- Works on poles hauls equipment and installs required equipment while ensuring safe and reliable service.
- Prepares field reports material lists and operates equipment when necessary.
- Assists with groundwork as assigned including digging holes ditches etc. using power tools fusion splicers/fiber testing equipment.
- May be subject to emergency after-hours availability.
- Additional work and/or training outside normal work hours may be required.

Requirements
- Graduate of a certified lineman training school.
- One year of experience within the construction or electrical field CDL (Class A)
Qualifications
- High school diploma or graduate equivalency.
- Designation as Journeyman Lineworker through TVPPA or an approved equivalent.
- Ability to obtain a CDL (A) with air brake endorsement is required within six months of employment in this position.
- Warren County residency is required within six (6) months of employment.
- Mist complete ongoing training assignments advance in skill level and attain Journeyman Lineman status through TVPPAs apprenticeship program.
- Failure to attain Journeyman status will be grounds for dismissal.
- Ability to learn basic electrical theory familiarity with basic hand tools and the ability to learn to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of company policies safety rules and state/local laws pertaining to operation of vehicles and equipment.
- Ability to work in inclement weather. Some work after hours will be required.
- The physical demands of the position are considered Heavy; and the individual must successfully pass BGMUs physical demands testing.
CERTIFICATIONS & LICENSING REQUIREMENTS:
- Light Brigade Fiber Optic 1-2-3 Training Course (required after 6 months of employment).
- Fiber Testing & Splicing Certification through FOA.
