Journeyman Plumber/ Facilities Plumbing Specialist
Location: Queens NY
Shift: 1st Shift
Compensation: $44.97 $57.42 per hour
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Plumber to play a critical role in the daily operation and reliability of a large-scale facilitys water and sewer this hands-on position youll take ownership of both preventative and corrective maintenance across a wide range of plumbing systems ensuring everything runs efficiently safely and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
This role is ideal for a problem-solver who thrives in a dynamic environment takes pride in craftsmanship and enjoys working collaboratively with a broader facilities and maintenance team.
What Youll Do
Oversee and maintain the daily operation of water and sewer systems across the site
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on plumbing systems of varying age size and complexity
Inspect troubleshoot and repair all aspects of facility plumbing systems
Plan layout assemble install test and repair plumbing systems and equipment
Anticipate potential system issues and proactively implement solutions to protect facility assets
Perform backflow testing and certifications (training reimbursement available)
Apply strong working knowledge of plumbing equipment building systems OSHA standards and local codes
Support general maintenance and facility operations as needed
Document work clearly and communicate effectively with team members and leadership
Required Qualifications
Valid state drivers license
Plumbing Journeymans License and/or State Plumbing License
Backflow certification or ability to obtain within the first 90 days of employment
High school diploma or state equivalent
Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and local plumbing codes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of overall MEP system design and application
Experience managing work orders and using CMMS platforms
Background in commercial or service-related facility environments
