The AI Office within BlackRock Global Markets is a function focused on transforming our businesses with the use of AI with 3 specificgoals :scaling the investment process to increase productivity generating insightsforperformanceandidentifyingrevenue opportunities to grow our business. We will achieve these goals bydelivering ona cohesive AI strategy for BGM helping drive prioritization and governance and connecting with partners across theFirm onAI initiatives. Also critical is the acceleration of our execution plans for AI helping run pilots and proof of concepts to final deployed products and the incubation of AI DNA into BGM bringing in new skills to make us better technologists and help amplify our collective impact. To this end a BGM AI Center of Excellencehas beenestablishedin Gurgaon to be a key driver of the program and a great central partner to all BGM functions indelivering onour AI goals.
Job Purpose/Background:
The BGM AI office is looking for a dynamiccontributortotheAI Center of Excellence team that workswith all BGM functions to build core AI capabilities. The primary job responsibilities include research and development of use cases on language models (LLMs) andbuildout ofquantitative/ML based components to accelerate our execution on BGMs AI strategy. The team will focus onidentifyingkey AI ideas for BGMincubatingand delivering Proof ofConceptsand working with businesses to roll out successful pilots to production workflows. The work will also involve building common platforms and toolkits for use by in-business partners and helping raise the AI skillset forall ofBGM.
Key Responsibilities:
Partner with in-business teams to lead the design and development of AI models/use cases for key BGM initiatives focusing on the technical build and evaluation of Proof of Concepts towards Production especially in thefast movingGenerative AI space
Be a subject matter expert and a resource for large language models (LLMs)/ Natural language processing work within BGM
Build quantitative/ML models as needed and in partnership with research and data science teams within BGM and at the Firm
Create common tools and platform solutions that can be useful across multiple BGM use cases leveraging and adapting Firm technology where applicable
Work with BGMs data engineering teams to source new datasets for AI modelingand prepare existing ones for AI use
Work with BLKs central AI office and other AI-forward teams at BlackRock especially in Investment organizations toidentifysynergies and opportunities to partner
Create alignment and help build a community with AIResearchand data teams in Gurgaon and within BGM globally
Skills & Qualifications:
3 years of experience in theFinancialservices industry in a Data/ Analytics/Research/Technology oriented role requiring knowledge of investment workflows and products.
Bachelorslevel education with a focus on statistics mathematics engineering computerscienceor related fields
Experience with natural language processing and the modern Transformer architecture for text summarization vectorization entityextractionand reasoning.
Experience with emerging LLM offerings from industry leaders.
Experience in python & related framework/libraries
Experience with data engineering (ETLs) and analytical tools (Tableau PowerBI etc.)
Knowledge of various modelling techniques econometrics / statistical analysis mathematical optimization is desirable
Strong analytical skills attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Excellent interpersonal oral and written communication skills
