Our Central Coast MakerSpace is a vibrant co-managed facility within the Gosford Regional Library designed to empower students staff and the wider community through hands-on access to emerging technologies and collaborative learning.


About the role

Were looking for aMakerSpace Technical Officerto co-lead the day-to-day operations of this dynamic space. Youll design and deliver engaging workshops support users with a wide range of creative toolsfrom 3D printers to embroidery machinesand help foster a culture of innovation and inclusion.

What Youll Do

  • Coordinate the MakerSpaces daily operations ensuring a safe welcoming and well-maintained environment.
  • Design and deliver creative workshops and pop-up events that promote digital literacy and hands-on learning.
  • Support and mentor Student Peer Support Assistants including rostering and training.
  • Collaborate with University and Gosford Regional Library staff to develop programs and procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain equipment escalating issues when needed.
  • Promote the MakerSpace through social media and community engagement.

Youll have:

  • A degree with relevant experience or a diploma with at least 2 years experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of educational technologies and MakerSpace tools (e.g. 3D printers design software electronics sewing machines).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across teams and engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience designing and delivering workshops or training sessions.
  • A commitment to equity diversity and creating culturally safe spaces.

The remuneration for this position isfrom$80972 FTE17%superannuation and is commensurate with skills and experience.
