Job Summary

The duties and responsibilities of the Technical Lead (TB) include:

1. Technical Leadership and Standards

Provide guidance on DS-TB and DR-TB diagnosis treatment infection control contact management and TB Preventive Therapy (TPT).

Ensure all technical interventions comply with NTP guidelines WHO-endorsed policies and donor standards. Lead adaptation of emerging TB tools and digital adherence technologies to local contexts.

Review and approve training materials SOPs clinical protocols and job aids used across SCH and partner networks.

 

2. Service Delivery Strengthening

Support GP clinics private facilities pharmacies and partners to implement standardized TB screening testing notification and treatment pathways.

Provide targeted mentoring to facilities initiating DR-TB services under pilot schemes ensuring strict safety and supervision protocols.

Strengthen TB corners and integrate TB screening into private health facilities.

Provide technical input in designing referral pathways mobile diagnostic deployment sputum transport networks and decentralized treatment support systems.

 

3. Capacity Building and Provider Mentorship

Lead technical training for GPs hospital staff pharmacists community health workers and clinic assistants.

Support Program Director (TB) in building capacity of partners in TB case management data use IPC and TPT scale-up.

Conduct joint supervision visits with partners providing onsite coaching case reviews and corrective actions.

 

4. Digital Health and Data Quality

Collaborate with digital team to ensure clinical accuracy of the TB Case Notification App EHR-based reporting tools and self-screening platforms.

Provide technical guidance on diagnostic categories notification workflows and data validation.

Oversee implementation of DQA (Data Quality Assessments) cohort reviews and integration of digital adherence tools (DAT/vDOT).

 

5. Quality Assurance and Technical Oversight

Lead quarterly technical audits of GP clinics pharmacies facilities and mobile diagnostic teams.

Ensure adherence to biosafety IPC and clinical protocols across consortium sites.

Support rapid troubleshooting during stock-outs diagnostic breakdowns referral failures or treatment interruptions. 6. Coordination and Representation

Serve as SCHs technical focal point for NTP donors partners and technical working groups.

Ensure the timely submission of quarterly annual and ad-hoc donor reports.


Qualifications :

Education: Medical degree or Masters degree in Public Health Epidemiology Infectious Diseases Health Sciences or related field.

 

Experience:

Minimum 7 years of experience in TB programming or infectious disease management including at least 3 years providing technical leadership.

Proven experience with TB diagnostics treatment pathways DR-TB case management and community-based TB care.

Experience working with private sector providers strongly preferred.

Experience implementing programs in conflict fragile or low-resource settings is an asset.

 

Skills:

Strong technical knowledge of TB clinical management diagnostic algorithms and public-private mix (PPM) models.

Experience with digital health and TB data systems is highly desirable.

Excellent capacity-building and mentorship skills with diverse provider groups.

Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities with the ability to adapt solutions to changing field realities.

Fluency in Burmese and English (written and spoken) required.
