Job Summary

Job Responsibilities

Coordinates and schedules all inmate transportation runs ensuring timely and secure movement between correctional facilities courts medical appointments and other authorized locations.
Assures all assigned officers possess a valid and current drivers license and maintain up-to-date records for compliance and operational readiness.
Communicate with correctional staff to confirm transport logistics and maintain adherence to safety and legal protocols.
Prepares and maintains detailed transportation records including route plans vehicle logs and incident reports.

Must successfully complete eight (8) weeks of SCDC Basic Training upon hire.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State of South Carolina Minimum Requirements:

A high school diploma and relevant experience. A bachelors degree in a related field may substitute for the required experience.

SCDC Minimum Requirements:

(Or an acceptable equivalency as approved by the Division of State Human Resources).

Three (3) years of experience in correctional security military or police work to include one (1) year of supervisory experience.
A degree in criminal justice or a related degree may substitute for supervisory experience year for year (associate and above 1 year).
Must be certified by the SCDC Training Academy and successfully complete the basic supervisory course within six (6) months of entry into the position.
