Job Responsibilities:

Perform all aspects of structural design including steel concrete and masonry applying both theoretical knowledge and practical design methods.

Manage projects and teams with work performed under the supervision of a senior engineer or designer.

Conceptualize and prepare plans layouts sections details and bills of materials to effectively communicate construction or fabrication requirements.
-
Develop designs consistent with local codes client requirements and good engineering practices while coordinating with engineers and other designers.
-
Review structural calculations equipment drawings general arrangements and other discipline drawings prior to starting structural drawings.
-
Develop material take-offs based on design drawings or 3D modeling platforms.
-
Lead a team of structural engineers and designers on various project sizes ensuring projects stay within budget and meet deadlines.
-
Coordinate project staffing liaising with department managers to ensure adequate resources are available.
-
Maintain project schedules incorporating structural tasks into the overall project timeline.
-
Provide monthly project forecasts including estimates to complete and earned value assessments.
-
Assist with proposal engineering (workhour estimates scope definition).
-
Offer design guidance to structural engineers particularly regarding fabrication requirements such as connections and framing.
-
Assist with conceptual layout and cost studies to determine optimal solutions.
-
Review vendor and fabrication drawings for conformance to specifications.
-
Advise on design or scope changes and ensure timely updates.
-
Coordinate with other disciplines as needed and ensure proper documentation of design changes.

Mentor junior structural designers and provide technical guidance.
Required Skills & Experience:
-
Minimum 10 years of experience in structural design especially in industrial projects.
-
Proficiency with AutoCAD is required; Autodesk Revit experience is a plus.
-
Knowledge of structural detailing for steel and concrete structures.
-
Familiarity with structural analysis software like RISA and STAAD is advantageous.
-
Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
-
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications: Word Excel Outlook and Teams.
-
Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments and meet tight deadlines.
-
Willingness to visit job sites and perform fieldwork when necessary.
-
Capable of handling physical tasks like bending stooping and climbing for field visits.
