We aim to improve the oral health of all Victorians particularly vulnerable groups and those most in need. Dental Assistant Floor Coordinator

Join Our Warm & Welcoming Team

Were looking for a Dental Assistant Floor Coordinator to oversee operations across our Primary Care Dental this role youll coordinate patient flow manage resources and ensure safe efficient and high-quality care.

Youll be the go-to person for daily chair management staffing allocations and real-time problem-solving. Working closely with the Primary Care leadership team youll help optimise throughput patient safety and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate dental lists and chair management to align with clinical priorities.
  • Lead and support dental teams daily modelling a calm solutions-focused can-do approach.
  • Manage staffing allocations and skill mix escalating and problem-solving in real time.
  • Partner with leadership (Team Leader Primary Care and Head of Unit Primary Care) to optimize throughput and patient safety.
  • Monitor clinical standards patient flow and documentation ensuring timely and accurate handovers.
  • Liaise with other services to maintain continuity of care.
  • Contribute to quality safety and continuous improvement initiatives across the unit.

  • Certificate III in Dental Assisting.
  • Cert IV in Dental Assisting (desirable).
  • Whilst experience in coaching and team management is an advantage we also welcome applications from talented Dental Assistants who may have less experience but are motivated to learn grow and develop their skills within a supportive and collaborative team environment.
  • Knowledge in rostering and resource management.
  • Knowledge of patient care processes techniques and terminology within an oral health environment.
