JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Bookkeeping Supervisor / Manager to lead and support a team of four full-time bookkeepers and 1 admin person. This is a leadership-focused role that does not involve completing bookkeeping tasks; instead you will be responsible for guiding the team ensuring quality standards and maintaining efficient internal workflows.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead mentor and support a team of 4 bookkeepers and 1 admin person fostering a positive and high-performing culture.

  • Manage team workflows workloads and priorities to ensure deadlines are always met.

  • Review and quality check completed bookkeeping work for accuracy quality and compliance with internal processes.

  • Develop improve and refine procedures to improve efficiency and consistency across the team.

  • Provide training guidance and performance feedback to support professional growth.

  • Communicate professionally with Australian clients when escalations or clarifications are required

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities for service improvements and team development.

  • Ensure adherence to company policies confidentiality standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Uphold strict confidentiality and ensure adherence to Australian standards.

  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities effectively.



Requirements

SKILLS:

  • Minimum 5 years experience working with Australian companies as a Senior bookkeeper

  • Minimum 3 years experience supervising or managing a team within an Australian bookkeeping firm.

  • Highly organised confident in delegating and skilled at prioritising competing tasks.

  • Perfect written and verbal English communication skills professional clear and confident.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues early and implement effective solutions.

  • Comfortable implementing structure ensuring accountability and supporting continuous improvement.

  • Strong leadership delegation and organisational abilities.

  • Excellent attention to detail and a process-driven mindset.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables and data review) and Microsoft Word (professional document preparation).

  • Solid understanding of Australian bookkeeping workflows and platforms such as Xero MYOB and QuickBooks Hubdoc and Dext etc (though you will not perform bookkeeping tasks).

  • A proactive and positive approach to managing people and improving systems.
