What we are looking for:
As the Lead Programs Librarian youll drive the strategic development and delivery of diverse library programs and outreach initiatives that reflect and respond to the unique needs of our communities. From digital literacy and makerspaces to Indigenous storytelling and housebound services youll champion equity creativity and connection across every corner of the Fraser Coast.
What your day will look like:
- Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team delivering programs for all ages and abilities including:
- Children & Families Young People Multicultural Indigenous Digital Literacy GLAM Makerspace and Housebound Services
- Build strong community partnerships and represent Fraser Coast Libraries across the region
- Oversee volunteer engagement including Friends of the Library and housebound support
- Promote library services through engaging online and offline content
- Collaborate with Council teams to ensure regional equity and sustainable service delivery
- Seek and manage grants to support innovative programming
- Liaise with key stakeholders including the State Library of Queensland and QPLA
- Evaluate and report on program outcomes ensuring continuous improvement
- Lead staff and volunteer training with a focus on safety inclusion and excellence

What youll need for success:
- Qualified Librarian (AQF Level 7 or above) with eligibility for associate membership of the Australian Library and Information Association
- Ability to effectively manage and coordinate a suite of sustainable library programs which respond to diverse community needs.
- Ability to coordinate and direct an effective overall library social media presence website digital and print promotions and associated materials and activities or similar.
- Ability to supervise staff and collaborate with teams across significant work areas to produce positive community outcomes in line with strategic plans and corporate goals.
- Understanding and commitment to the philosophies and practices of public library service in a regional environment including providing excellence in modern library user services and programs with a focus on inclusive and innovative programs new technologies and digital concepts or similar.
- Experience in a public library environment and of library programs and associated technologies.
Desirable:
- Experience in a public library multi-branch environment preferably with public library experience in community liaison volunteers and public relations.
Licences:
- Current Working with Children Blue Card
- Current Class C Drivers Licence
