Position Summary
Maintain and repair all of the equipment in the department.
Perform service work on other department vehicles and equipment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Duties:
Carry out mechanical electrical hydraulic and any other repairs required to ensure the efficient operation of all equipment
Carry out and give supervision to the equipment operators concerning regular servicing and maintenance
When required attend to stranded equipment to carry out field repairs
Assist in other duties as required within the garage including welding fabricating etc.
Perform safety checks of County vehicles on a regular basis
Orders parts as required to maintain vehicle maintenance
General:
Incumbents must keep up-to-date on all relevant legislation collective bargaining agreements County Policies and Procedures etc. ensuring that these are implemented as prescribed
Incumbents must possess the physical ability to meet the duties and responsibilities of the job description and/or the requirements identified within the positions Physical Demands Analysis

Credentials Required
Minimum Formal Education
Secondary School Diploma (Grade 12) or a combination of education and experience required to perform the duties of the position
Current valid Province of Ontario Drivers license minimum class AZ
310T Truck and Coach Technician
310S Automotive Service Technician
Experience
Prior experience as a licensed mechanic performing mechanical electrical hydraulic welding and fabrication repairs of a variety of vehicles and equipment
A valid Ontario drivers license and use of a vehicle.
