About the Role:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Coordinator to join our manufacturing team in Ponca City Oklahoma. This role partners with plant leadership to foster a strong safety culture identify workplace hazards and implement strategies to prevent incidents. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced industrial environment has hands-on safety experience and is committed to ensuring compliance with all local state and federal safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Safety Manager with reviewing updating and implementing safety programs to maintain compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
- Partner with plant operations to evaluate current work practices and recommend improvements to reduce risks.
- Lead incident reporting and investigations identify root causes assign corrective actions and track completion to prevent future incidents.
- Develop and deliver monthly safety training for all plant associates and conduct specialized safety training sessions as needed.
- Conduct routine audits and inspections to ensure compliance with corporate safety programs and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of safety programs training and incidents.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting including assembly or machine shop environments.
- Supervisory experience in a fast-paced high-volume facility preferred.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational multitasking and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and effectively communicate with team members.
- Comfortable working in environments with strong smells loud machinery temperature variations and refrigerated or freezer areas.
- Willingness and ability to work 2nd shift and occasional weekends.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Safety Environmental Health or a related field.
- Certifications such as CPE CSP or CIH.
- Experience in food manufacturing safety programs.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit stand and walk on level surfaces for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety glasses and hearing protection when required.
