The University of Tennessee Health Science Center Department of Pediatrics Division of Pulmonology is seeking applicants for a full-time non-tenure track academic position.



Responsibilities

The candidate should have expertise or interest in Behavioral Sleep Medicine. The focus of the position is diagnostic and therapeutic interventions for pediatric and adolescent sleep disorders including but not limited to:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia
  • Circadian rhythm disorders
  • Parasomnias
  • Positive airway pressure (PAP) desensitization (to assist patients overcome barriers to PAP therapy for management of OSA)

Selected candidate will be appointed to the academic rank of assistant professor in the Department of Pediatrics (commensurate with experience and credentials). Opportunities for research and teaching exist and are strongly encouraged and supported. The Pediatric Sleep Program is part of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonology Allergy Immunology and Sleep Medicine and is currently staffed by 3 BC/BE pediatric sleep physicians. The pediatric sleep program manages a 6 bed exclusively pediatric sleep laboratory at Le Bonheur and co-directs an active sleep fellowship with the Memphis VA Medical Center. The program is the only academic program providing the full array of pediatric sleep services to the region.



Qualifications
  • Requires a Ph.D. in clinical child psychology and a Tennessee license (or eligibility)
